Recognizing eating disorders early helps a caring parent or guardian to check whether their child is having proper nutrition or not. Late recognition of eating disorders leads to formation of a habit which is not advisable for our health. The following are some tips on early recognition of eating disorders:-
Watch for changes in the eating habits of the child. Check whether the child is having proper three time meal or not.
Notice the type of dress the child is wearing. If the child is losing weight then he or she may be wearing baggie clothes
Record the time period of exercising of the child. If the child thinks that he is gaining extra calories, then he may start working out more.
Check out whether the child goes to the bathroom after few moments of eating. This happens mainly with teens suffering from bulimia, they purge the food they have eaten by vomiting.
Diabetes or hyperglycemia can be quite life threatening. Overindulgence in diet at such times can be really fatal. While the doctors prescribe a lot of injections and pills, it is the exercise regimen and moderation in food intake which saves the day for a diabetic.
