Strokes can either be major or minor. A minor stroke can be characterized by headaches, some slight visual loss and inability of the body to coordinate properly. If a person notices any of these symptoms, it is best to seek medical attention rather than assuming that they will be fine. Most people affected by stroke are above the 50 year age bracket. </p>
<p>There are various ways that have come up to prevent stroke such as the use of blood thinners and diet changes. Since some cases of stroke arise as from heart conditions doctors recommend heart medications to reduce cases of stoke. Some operations like making incisions into the skull have also proven to be successful.</p>
<p>Taking foods rich in vitamin E like avocados, milk and eggs. Diabetes can also be a cause of stroke. Diabetic patients are advised to always keep their insulin levels in check.</p>
